Michaela & Connor | An Omni Parker House Wedding in Boston
Some wedding days stay with you for the moments you never could have planned.
Michaela and Connor were married on April 10, 2026, at the historic Omni Parker House in downtown Boston. They wanted a wedding that felt quintessentially Boston, and the day delivered: a little old Boston charm, a lot of laughter, and so many small moments that made it feel entirely theirs.
One of the moments I remember most happened right outside the hotel.
A Little Patience on a Busy Boston Street
Downtown Boston isn't exactly the easiest place to get a quiet shot.
Out on School Street, cars were passing, tourists were walking by, and the city was going about its usual business. Michaela and Connor were walking together with their dog, who they made sure was part of the day, and I had a particular frame in mind.
So I waited. I kept watching the movement of the street, looking for that little window when everything would come together.
Eventually, it did.
It's just one moment in their wedding film, but I still remember the patience it took. Those are often the shots that mean the most to me. Nothing forced or overly directed. Just a real moment, and being ready when it happens.
Old Boston, Quiet Moments
Michaela and Connor got ready, said their vows, and celebrated all under one roof, and the building gave us so much to work with.
The hotel's historic elevator became one of my favorite places to film them together. The old details, the textures, the way they stood close to each other. It was a quiet pocket in the middle of a busy day.
Their ceremony took place in the hotel's Press Room, with music from Vintage Strings. Afterward, we stepped out to Old City Hall, just down School Street, where the architecture made a beautiful backdrop for a few portraits. My favorite frame from the day is the two of them kissing beneath Michaela's veil.
There was something timeless about it.
The Other Side of the Day
Of course, not every moment was quiet.
The reception in the Wheatley Room had a completely different energy. Michaela and Connor walked in to friends and family cheering them on, and later they were lifted up on chairs while everyone celebrated around them.
There were speeches from Michaela's maid of honor and her dad, a father-daughter dance, a dance between Connor and his mom, and a short toast from the two of them thanking everyone for coming.
Those moments are just as much a part of their story as the quiet ones. The laughter, the movement, the people who showed up for them. All the things that make a wedding feel like their wedding.
Watch Michaela & Connor's Wedding Film
A wedding goes by quickly. A film lets you notice what you missed while you were living it: a reaction across the room, a detail in the background, something someone said that you didn't hear at the time.
A Few Words from Michaela
"The video was the perfect amount of humor, elegance, and emotion that perfectly captured the day."
- Michaela S., July 2026
She also told me the film showed them parts of the day they hadn't even remembered, and that they'd already watched it so many times.
The First Watch
Some of the best moments in this work happen long after the wedding day, when a couple sits down to watch their film for the first time.
After weeks of piecing their story together, seeing them see it is something I never take for granted. Michaela and Connor were kind enough to record theirs.
That's what it's all about for me. Not just a film that's beautiful to watch, but one that brings you right back to how it all felt.
Planning a Wedding at the Omni Parker House?
If you're considering the Omni Parker House, here are a few things I noticed filming Michaela and Connor's day.
The whole day can happen in one building. Michaela and Connor got ready at the hotel, married in the Press Room, and hosted cocktails and dinner in the Wheatley Room. No travel between locations meant more time for the moments that matter.
Old City Hall is steps away. It's an easy option for portraits without leaving the neighborhood.
School Street is busy. If you want portraits outside, build in a few extra minutes so your filmmaker and photographer can wait for a clear moment.
When I asked Michaela and Connor why they chose Hanscoop Films, they said:
"We really wanted to work directly with someone, vs hiring from a larger company where they assign someone the week of."
That's how I work. I film every wedding myself, quietly and in a documentary style, paying attention to the people, conversations, and moments that make your story yours.
If you're planning a wedding here, or anywhere around Boston and New England, I'd love to hear about your day.
